What Automations are
Automations are standing instructions your Beagle carries out on its own, written in plain language rather than drawn in a flowchart builder. They run on a schedule (a morning digest, weekly room summaries) or on an event (someone replies in a thread, a new email lands), and every run is reported back on the Automations page so you can read exactly what happened. Before anything goes live, you can run an automation as a simulation and see what it would have sent first.
Skills: ready-made automations
You don’t have to invent your automations from scratch. The Skills tab on your Beagle’s Automations page is a catalog of curated playbooks. They’re proven recipes the platform maintains, so they keep improving after you set them up. Pick one, press Use this skill, and the assistant walks you through the setup in chat: it asks the few questions the skill needs, then creates the automation for you.
- 1
Open the catalog
In your Beagle’s sidebar, go to Automations and switch to the Skills tab. - 2
Pick a skill
Each card describes what the skill does and when it runs. Click a card for the full picture. - 3
Set it up in chat
Press Use this skill and the assistant takes it from there. No forms; you answer a couple of questions in plain language.
Worked example: send a Beagle through a Google Calendar invite
The most requested one: you’re booking the first call anyway, so let the calendar invite carry the room. The meeting shows up with the Beagle Room link inside it, and both sides walk into the call prepared.
- 1
Connect Google Calendar
On your Beagle’s Apps page, connect Google Calendar and approve the access prompt. You only do this once. After that, your Beagle can create events on your behalf. - 2
Start from the Skill, or just ask
If a calendar skill is published in your Skills catalog, press Use this skill on it. No skill in sight? Ask the assistant directly: “Schedule a call with Dana at Acme for Thursday at 2pm and send the Beagle Room along with the invite.” - 3
Review and send
The assistant creates the room (or picks the existing one for the deal), drafts the calendar event with the room link included, and confirms with you before anything reaches your contact’s inbox.
Your contact accepts the invite like any other meeting, except this one comes with a private room where your Beagle answers their questions before the call ever starts.
Watch it run
Every automation run, whether simulated or live, lands on the Automations page’s activity feed with a summary of what was done. Skim it with your coffee; if a run did something you’d have done differently, tell the assistant and it adjusts the standing instructions.
